I know, you know that not everyone has the taste or gift for writing. It is also undeniable the benefits it brings to those who use this skill on a daily basis.
However, when we talk about writing, we don't necessarily talk about an article, a literary work, starting to write on a blog, or something like that. But then what, you might ask: a diary! That's right, start training your skill by writing in a journal. At first, it will be a bit forced and tedious. However, with time and habit, you will see that it is even a form of therapy.

Five Benefits of Why Writing Is Good
Remember that for something to become a habit it takes an average of 21 days, at least doing the same thing every day. However, not everything is standard, there are other habits that take more and others to take less, as Ana Freitas wrote in an article published in Revista Galileu, on September 15, 2014, about the studies mentioned by psychologist Jeremy Dean. That is, maybe you need an average of 66 days for writing to become a habit in your life. However, the benefits are real.
Improves your communication skills;
Improves your problem-solving skills;
Writing improves your memory;
Increases your creativity;
It helps to relax.
There is still a bonus benefit, which can also end up impacting your life in a positive way. Are there other ways to achieve the five benefits mentioned above? Yes, there certainly is, but with the same cost-benefit ratio, I don't think so. The truth is that I'm suspicious of talking because I've always liked to write. However, I spent some time without practicing, but writing came back to my life after some events and needs. Let's get down to business and what brings you here.

1. Writing improves your communication skills
Since the arrival of the internet and digital inclusion, we are bombarded with content, stories, and news at all times and several times a day. In addition, apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram and the like arrived, reducing distances and reducing homesickness. Which is wonderful.
On the other hand, as not everything is rosy, the impression is that people have lost the ability to communicate coherently. As well, they often have difficulties expressing an idea and articulating their thoughts.
When you start practicing writing, you will get better and better at getting your ideas across clearly and concisely. My challenge is to be less verbose when it comes to conveying this information in written form. And you, what is it like when writing an idea or passing on information?
2. Perfect your problem-solving skills
When you start to get into writing, especially if it is to write online in blogs or to generate content, for example, a little organization and order are necessary. Mainly during the research part, where your text will be based on - and not copied.
In other words, this process helps you think more logically and critically. That is, you will be able to find better solutions and make better decisions as you practice writing.
3. Writing improves your memory
Writing things down, even random ones, helps you remember them better. However, note that the ideal here is analogical writing, as Austin Kleon would say in his book, Steal Like an Artist.
This benefit in particular helped me when I was in a delicate moment in my life. Not to effectively record my memory, but because it was a way where I could organize my thoughts. It is the moment when the diary becomes your therapist, your most faithful listener.
Also, you can go back over time to reread what happened or leave in the past as I did. I believe that I am still not prepared to rescue these issues deep down in my past, and I try to leave them dormant. Or locked in the basement, along with old Fernando, as my coach once told me.
4. Writing increases your creativity
I'm not the most creative person in this world, I seriously believe there are many more and better. But since we're not competing to see who's best at what, the truth is one thing: writing is a great way to let your creative juices flow.
"I've never been creative, it won't be writing that I'm going to be!"
You're already saying it won't be, I'm not the one who will be able to change that. But just to exemplify, I was fat for 30 years until the day I effectively decided to stop being. However, it wasn't overnight.
Bringing this into the world of writing and using Austin Kleon's example again, if the blank computer screen scares you and you have creative blocks, grab a notebook and pencil and hit the road. See the people, the world around you.
It was by doing exactly that I wrote one of the texts that I like the most, which if you want to read it just click here, and that definitely put me in the world of writing. In addition, the encouragement of two people who will always be unique and remembered for that, who are still my greatest supporters.
5. Writing helps you relax
Even this text is not being written with the intention of profiting from it, but for the simple fact that it is the way I found to breathe. It's that moment where I find myself alone, with my thoughts, and even exaggeratedly, writing today is where I can be in my nirvana.
“Writing can be a great way to de-stress and relax. It can be a form of self-care that allows you to express yourself and work with your emotions.”
The most interesting thing about publishing what I write is knowing that people I've never met in my life, even on the other side of the world, can benefit from even a sentence. And that expression can make so much sense that it causes significant changes in their lives.
Pretentious you think? Maybe, but I have reports that this has already happened and when you have this feedback, my friend, it's a feeling that no money in the world can pay.
Bonus with writing
As you got this far and I had promised that in addition to the five benefits presented above, there would be a bonus for you who read the 1134 words up to here, hold this one:
“You Can Make Money Writing”
This was even the title of a text I wrote talking about my experiences. If you want to read it after finishing this text, just click here. Don't worry, it will open in another window.
But going back, you don't have to make it your extra income or much less your profession. And everything is fine. If you never want to publish a line of what you write, that's fine too, much less a problem if you just write your memoirs in a diary.
Currently, I work with content generation, as a ghostwriter, and as a copywriter and I earn money doing what I like. That is, today writing for me is a hobby, my therapy and I manage to do all of this while having fun and earning money for it.
But don't believe and don't fall into internet conversations full of facilities. Because even when we do what we like, there are things that sometimes make us uncomfortable. Also, recognition takes time and it's all one step at a time.
Finally
Accept the challenge and see the benefits it can bring to your life. Don't be a Fernando! In other words, don't expect quick results, but be consistent in what you set out to do.
If you already have the habit of writing in your life, have you felt any of the benefits mentioned above? And if you're going to face this challenge, tell me what you think and what benefits you've seen. It will be very rewarding to exchange an idea about it.
