Be congruent, even though social networks have shown us that it is more important to appear than to be. And you don't need to be a behavior specialist, because I'm not, I've just become an enthusiast in the area, to see that this is exactly what is happening.
In other words, as the ancients said: “do as I say, not as I do”. From listening to this so much, it took root that it is more important to look like what you are not than to live what you should be.
It is not news that we know that words educate, but it is the example that leads. Besides life, those who taught me a lot about being congruent are my children. And here again, they do it unconsciously. Also, I hope that one day they will have an idea of how much they have taught, not only to me, but to other people as well.

Five tips for being more congruent
However, first of all, you need to understand what this word is and why I should make it a mantra for my life. Even because, when you assume it in your daily life, the easier it will be to reach your goals and objectives. And here it's not just professionally, but what matters most, you with yourself.
Know your values;
Act by your values;
Be transparent;
Accept responsibility for being congruent;
Do what you say.
The more you can align your speech with practice, the better off you are. That is, to maintain coherence between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Being congruent is the ability to maintain coherence between what you think, feel, and do.
Don't take everything to iron and fire, because we are human. Soon, wandering beings with their ups and downs. Furthermore, the important thing is to keep going when you slip up because the only ones who stand to gain are you and those around you. The more coherent, better, and healthier your relationships will be, as well as, the more constant your professional performance will be.

Know your values
When you aim to be more congruent, one of the first things you need to do is know what your values are. And for that, there is no other way than to really know who you are. That is, enter here, once again, self-knowledge, the key to the whole thing.
Therefore, it will be that moment of introspection where you will have to identify, as well as reflect on what your values are. Like, for example, honesty, integrity, respect, responsibility, and commitment.
Finally, what is the correlation of these values with what you have outlined as goals and objectives? Both personal and professional goals, for better or worse, go hand in hand.
Act by your values
Having identified what your values are, it's time to align speech with practice. Especially because you don't want to be labeled as inconsistent out there. As well as using these principles as a guide for your actions going forward.
Didn't you act like that? It's okay, the past is the past, what matters is today and the future. So, he starts to walk on his truths, respecting himself mainly.
“But the others”, you might be thinking. If even Jesus didn't please everyone, it won't be you who will achieve this feat.
Be transparent
Transparency is key to congruence. That is, make it clear what you want, and who you are, and don't admit to doing anything that goes against your precepts and beliefs.
Remember that the important thing is not only to appear honest, you have to be honest, for example. We are already bombarded daily by false gurus, prophets, and hoaxes of all shapes, colors, and flavors. Be the example and nothing better than being congruent for that.
Accept responsibility for being congruent
Now, there's no point in doing all that is up here if you don't take responsibility for yourself because you're not infallible. So when you make a mistake, admit it and correct it.
From experience, thinking that the world is against you and that nothing happens or works because of others will not take you to the next level. On the contrary, it will leave you stagnant, just as I was for nearly two decades.
In addition to making you a better human being, when you embrace your mistakes and don't try to hide them, it also gives you credibility and makes you more wholesome. As in the past, mistakes serve as a lesson for us not to repeat in the future.
Do what you say
It's not because you heard that you had to do what they said and not what they did, that you have to keep following the pattern. That is, you don't need to follow the herd because it's not an animal.
But congruence is closely linked with coherence and doing what you set out to do. That simple. Don't take a step bigger than the leg and don't make promises you can't keep.
Allow yourself to be congruent and see the results
Don't allow anyone to go over your values, as Dayane Cristina told me, at Imersão 10x Mais (18 and 19/03 in Porto Alegre — RS), “you showed yourself not to be a professional pleaser”, in the face of an event during the second day of immersion. Simply because I allowed myself to be congruent, at that moment my speech was aligned with the actions.
From the moment you start respecting yourself, not going over what you have as values, principles, and ethics, you automatically become congruent. As well as, you learn to have more empathy for others and respect them too, taking yourself out of the victim role and putting yourself as the director of your own life. Tell me, when will this movement start?

I understand what you are trying to say here, but I’m sorry friend, I have to correct your English this time. We would never use the word “congruent” in English to describe a person. The word you are looking for is “authentic”. I would recommend substituting this word in every place you used “congruent” and repost this article. Don’t stress about it and have a good day.
