Self-knowledge is the fucking key
Self-knowledge is the first step towards personal and professional fulfillment, because only when we know who we are and what we want can we chart a path that will lead us to success and complete happ

It's basic, but we have the gift of not doing what's basic. Self-knowledge is one of them, how are we going to want something if we don't have the slightest idea of who we are and what we want? Maturity is a great teacher for getting to know ourselves better because the blows that life gives us hone us over time.
Furthermore, when we understand our ignorance towards ourselves, it enables us to have a better understanding of what we need to seek to get out of this inertia. As well as where we need to focus our efforts and energy to evolve not only as people but as a professional as well.
Bear in mind that self-awareness will require a lot of willpower and sometimes poking into wounds that were hidden, intentionally or not. It's time for you to be 100% honest with yourself. As well as changing whatever it takes for that, habits must be acquired and others are forgotten.

Benefits of self-knowledge for your life
“Know yourself and you will know the universe and the gods”, is a phrase attributed to the philosopher Socrates. However, as reported by Pedro Menezes, Professor of Philosophy, Master in Educational Sciences, in a publication on the Toda Matéria website, “this phrase was attributed to several Greek figures and does not have a certain author”. And he adds “it is possible that it originates from a popular Greek saying”.
It helps to identify your points and strengths and weaknesses;
Assists in setting realistic goals;
Self-knowledge helps you make better decisions;
Helps improve relationships;
Provides to better manage emotions.
Before you question whether the Sócrates (1954 – 2011) we are talking about refers to the Brazilian soccer player and physician, I will have to disappoint you, but that's life. We are talking about the same Socrates who also has another famous phrase:
"I only know that I know nothing"
But let's get back to what matters, self-knowledge, the fucking key. And this is not current, much less a phrase said by Douglas Viegas, known as the “Poderosíssimo Ninja” and a former basketball player. That is, that means the more you know about yourself, the greater the certainty of what you seek, what you like, what motivates you, and what will make you happier.
Otherwise, you may be a “person who pleases others professionally”, an expression I heard at Imersão 10x Mais in conversation with Dayane Cristina, which took place in Porto Alegre (Brazil), on the last 18th and 19th of March, at Plaza São Rafael. Therefore, more manipulable, with a weak personality or suffering from Poliana Syndrome, everything is fine, where the world is falling apart around you and everything is fine.

Helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses
When you know yourself better, you can identify your strengths and capitalize on them. Also, you can recognize your weaknesses and work on them to improve.
However, the important thing is to have the humility and discernment that your strengths do not make you better than others, just as your weaknesses do not put you below anyone.
“Be honest with yourself”
The beauty is precisely in recognizing these two points and working to reduce these differences. But contrary to what we talk about here, now is the time for you to sit back on your chair, paper, and pen in hand, and draw up a list of strengths and weaknesses. If necessary, seek help from people who are close to you and really know you.
Assists in setting realistic goals
What makes your heart beat faster, your eyes sparkle and your legs shake? Have you ever asked yourself this question?
The greater your self-knowledge, the more assertive the answers, and the greater the chance of being happy. Because when you have a clear understanding of your skills, interests, and values, you can set realistic and achievable goals that align with who you are. And not what others want you to be.
Self-knowledge helps you make better decisions
Simple as that, we are the ones who have the power to complicate things. And the less we know each other, the greater our internal confusion and the greater the decisions we regret having taken in the future.
That is, when you know who you are, your decision-making becomes more aligned with your values and goals. And why not, professionals? After all, if you're over 30 and don't depend on your parents for everything, the personal and the professional go hand in hand.
I know it's a strong word, but never go against its essence and neither its values. You don't have to violate your heart and soul principle. Finally, the greater your self-knowledge, the more confident and secure you will be in your choices.
Helps to improve relationships
Mainly nowadays, where relationships are more volatile and soluble every day, with apps that look more like a restaurant menu or a shoe catalog: clicked, tried it, and didn't like it, move on to the next option.
You doing your homework to get to know yourself better, knowing what you want and especially what you don't want and who doesn't want to be part of your life, there's a way to build more solid relationships. As well as healthier and more meaningful connections.
It goes for friendships, including.
Provides better management of emotions
Fact! Self-knowledge allows you to manage your emotions, especially when you are placed in a situation that goes against your essence. As well as your will or what brings up emotions you've been struggling for years to forget.
Despite being rational, despite the fact that it is often not what human beings have shown around, we are still animals. And when we are being cornered or put in an uncomfortable position, the survival instinct can override the rational one. Soon, the greater you know yourself, the greater your self-control.
You can just start
Now it's time to take advantage of what sets you apart from other animals: your brain. That is, as much as your brain does everything for you to spend the least amount of energy possible, or save it as much as possible, show who's in charge of all this shit.
If you haven't done some serious and deep introspection work yet, now is the ideal time. It will hurt and when you open yourself up to that moment, truly, the opportunities you missed will be released without pity and force.
Just like, after a work of self-knowledge with commitment - not with others, but with you - it will make your journey lighter and more meaningful. And finally, don't be ashamed, embrace the extraordinary life that awaits you from now on.

I am currently stuck and frozen between two options. I know I want to get back to playing music, but I have performance anxiety, so it’s easier to continue my other passion, which is writing. I need to push myself out of my comfort zone to achieve my dreams, but instead I’m doing nothing. My heart wants music, but my brain wants to write.
